A module is a complete set of competencies or skills on a specific topic that can be
learned as a stand-alone unit of instruction. Some modules may have to be learned before others,
but each module is a complete learning experience in itself. Each module will have a clear statement of what students will be learning, why the skill is important, how they will know when they are successful, and the supporting skills they will need to learn. Students may also have specific projects and activities that will allow them to demonstrate that they have acquired the specific module skills.
Modularized courses consist of multiple modules linked together by a major skill or theme. A
modular course will consist of a specified number of modules. A modular course may have mandatory
modules and modules that are chosen from a specified list(s). Each module will have a course code and credit designation.
